ABOUT ME

About Ms. Vombrack!

Hello!  My name is Kara Vombrack and I am the Caruso music teacher, choir director, and director of the musical! I can’t wait to get to know everyone and create wonderful music at Caruso!

So you can get to know me a little better, here’s some information about me! I am from Buffalo Grove, IL and I received my undergraduate degree from Illinois State University in 2010 with a double major in Choral Music Education and Musical Theater.  In the past, I have had the privilege of teaching music and choir at Northbrook Junior High in District 28, Robert Frost & Rupley Elementary Schools in District 59, and Stevenson Elementary School in District 54. I was also the Assistant Show Choir Director of Wheeling High School’s New Dawns for two years and the music director/choreographer of Aptakisic Junior High’s musical Into The Woods.  From 2014-2015, I was the General Music Teacher at Wilmot Elementary in District 109. This is my 5th year at Caruso Middle School!

In my free time, I have a private voice studio in Buffalo Grove. I am also a member of the Illinois Music Educators Association (ILMEA), American Choral Director’s Association (ACDA), and the National Association for Music Education (NAfME).

My passion for the arts extends to my performing career as well. I have been performing in musical theater since I was 8 years old. Some of my favorite roles include: Shrek (Fiona) at Big Deal Productions, Thoroughly Modern Millie (Millie) at Glenview Theatre Guild, and 42nd Street (Phyllis Dale) at Highland Park Players.

I look forward to meeting all of you, growing the music program, and learning the many traditions of Caruso Middle School!
